A lunar meteorite is a fragment of the Moon’s crust that was blasted off the surface by an impact, spent an unrecorded stretch of time in space, and eventually fell to Earth. They are recovered mostly from deserts and ice fields, where a dark rock sitting on pale ground is worth walking over to look at.
The total mass of lunar material ever recovered on Earth is measured in kilograms, not tons. A portion of one such specimen is milled to powder and blended into the white resin that floods the voids of the burl.
The wood and the resin arrive at the same surface from opposite directions — one grown slowly in a tree, one older than the tree by four billion years — and the whole point of the piece is the line where they meet.

On small objects
Why a pen at all
A table is seen. A pen is handled. It goes in a pocket, gets set down on strange desks, signs things that matter, and is the one object in this catalog that will be with its owner on an ordinary Tuesday.
That changes how it is built. The finish has to survive contact, the balance has to be right in a hand rather than in a photograph, and the resin has to be hard enough to take forty years of being put down carelessly.
It is also the least expensive way into the shop, which is deliberate.
